Common questions

How do I calculate 17% VAT?

To add VAT, multiply the price without VAT by 1.17. To remove it, divide the price including VAT by 1.17. The VAT amount is the difference between the two. For example, 117 KM including VAT is 100 KM plus 17 KM VAT.

When must I register for VAT in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

When your taxable turnover over 12 consecutive months exceeds 100,000 KM. The threshold was raised from 50,000 KM in December 2023. You can also register voluntarily, which can make sense if your customers are VAT payers, but talk to us before you decide.

How often is the VAT return filed?

VAT payers file the return and pay the VAT for the previous month by the 10th of each month. Our tax calendar shows this date and the other recurring deadlines, and we handle the filing for our clients.
